So, What is worship like at your church?
We understand that worship is
primarily about God and not about us. Because of this our worship
service is oriented in such a way as to allow as many people as
possible to worship God in a way that is authentic and passionate. The
music we sing is both traditional and contemporary. The order of
service might be described as loosely liturgical. Many come wearing
their Sunday best because for them, wearing their best is an expression
of worship. Others, however, come in blue jeans or anything else they
might normally wear accepting Jesus' invitation to "come as you are!"
We understand that God does not necessarily care about the clothes we
wear, the music we sing or the rituals we maintain. God is concerned
with the attitude of our heart.
Children our an important part of our worshiping family. Parent's are encouraged to intentionally help their children participate in singing the songs we sing and praying our unison prayers together. There is a children's message every week during the service. On most Sunday's after the children's message our kids are dismissed to Jr. Church where they will continue to worship in an age appropriate way. However, on the 3rd Sunday of every month the children remain in the service so that they may begin to learn about "adult" worship first hand.
God's Word, The Bible, is central to our service. Themes from the Scripture are considered in selecting the music we sing. Scripture is often recited together during the "call to worship" or "prayer of confession." Our pastor is adamant that the sermon be thoroughly biblical. Whether he is engaged in preaching through a book of the Bible or a topical series he aims to convey God's Word not his own on any subject.
Most guests say that we are a very welcoming family....and that is important to us. So, why don't you come see for yourself and join us some Sunday morning?
